1. Presence or lack of in-draft
2. In-draft velocity
3. Transition distance between the Immediate (1) and Far Field (2) zones at which flow changes direction
4. Appropriate distance for placing counter-fires

(1) Immediate Zone - place close to fire where flow is in the opposite direction to in-draft
(2) Far Field Zone - begins where Immediate Zone ends and stretches downstream. In-draft is observed there.
